I Love You Guys, In The Totally Gay Way
Paul and I were just discussing our different styles of posting stories on My Loot, Your Tears. In particular we are both highly amused that we often get people giving us grief in the comments section, because they don't like the content of our stories.
Each of us (myself, Paul, and Captain) write in different styles and often about different things. We rotate around doing different things - Paul has been perfecting his art of gank videos lately, while Captain and I have been working on corporate infiltrations. Our other two members don't blog here, but they also both act very independently - Zarago likes to spend a lot of time hunting down and shooting our war targets, and lexera is on the European timezone.
All of us are playing Eve for the same reason, which I can summarize in a pithy internet meme: The LOLs. Be it shooting up mission runners who 'just want to play the game!', stealing a bunch of tasty ships from a careless corporation, blowing up auto-piloting freighters, or laughing our asses off at horrible ship fits, we do this for the enjoyment of it - usually shared with each other.
We blog all of this because we think you'll enjoy it too. From the replies we get both in and out of game, we know a whole bunch of you do - we've grown to over 400 unique readers a day (not counting anyone on an iPhone or using an RSS reader). We're pretty happy with that.
In the end this is why we find it equally as funny that some people leave us comments bitching about what we write. Why are you still reading? We don't care if you don't like it. We do this for us. But please feel free to keep bitching if it makes you feel good! We will continue to point and laugh =)
Paul also linked me to this great article on haters. My favorite bullet point was #4: “If you are really effective at what you do, 95% of the things said about you will be negative.”
I'll admit your posts are entertaining reading. And I do think that guys are complete scumbags and social deviants. And I would like nothing better than to see you get your come-uppance. But I can't see it happening, you're clever. That whole Orca alt thing, its practically flaw-less.
I'll fit three webs to my Domni and WTF pawn your salvaging vigil if it gets too close. And then GTFO. Thats about all that the care-bears could ever hope to achieve.
Keep on keep'n on!
If someone writes a blog about smashing pirates and ninja's that is half as entertaining as this, I'll go read it.
But I am behind the great firewall these days, and my choices are severely limited.
#1 Fan Dan
Thank you for introducing the orca/alt idea to me. Bloody awesome!
Love reading your posts on my iPhone while I'm on break. It gets boring in a crane all day!
Cheers boys
I was just thinking about my style of commenting on EVE blogs. In particular, I am highly amused when I am indirectly referenced in a follow-up post because I've touched the nerve of the original author... Bah, that will take too long and I suffer no illusions that we'll agree on who is actually crying here.
But, hey, I think we've found a common interest, Khalia. You grief hapless carebears. I grief simpleminded bloggers. (By the way, it took a little more effort on my part to get to Manasi, though he is so unintelligent as to be considered primitive. And at least you're not deleting my comments. Yet. Give it time.)
It looks like we have a win-win situation on our hands here! This will be fun. Well, until I get bored. So let's see... hmm... not very much going on in this post...
Will your next post contain links to opinions that only serve to confirm your world view? If so, terrific!
I'm one of yours iPhone regular readers so I dont show up on your records but my daily morning rutine is to get up, go to loo, have a cup of coffee and a cigarette and then check whether there are any new post on your blog. In other words since I found out about your existence you become my favourite read. I find you both funny and inspiring even though I am not your kind. Atm I have my hands tied with other projects in Eve but who knows maybe one day I'll follow your example.
Enough of kind words, this is Eve. Keep up good work and...
I HATE YOU !! ;)
I guess I'll join the ranks of comment haters: How does being in the European timezone constitute something different in EVE?
Is lexara = Tuxford?
The difference is that the North American Jerks dishonor ransoms, but EuroJerks dishonour them.
Heh, I am owned.
Keep up the good work!, Like to read it, following by RSS, but dont read out in reader... ;).., forwarded it a lot around too ;), and the Orca alt thing is cool.
Completely true. :) I love negative feedback personally. Tells me what to do to annoy someone specifically. :)
Well done ninjas. Tales of your exploits are indeed very entertaining.
When I first encountered ninjas I hated them.
Over time I came to appreciate that freedom is a critically important part of the EVE experience. Including freedom to do things others don't like and freedom to make horrible, painful mistakes.
I read this website for the same pithy internet reason: The LOLs. I'll keep reading until you guys turn into carebears. Or get bored, whichever comes first! =)
You guys are scum, scum of the lowest order. So much so that you'd be kicked out of Mos Eisley. And I love it! I check MLYT nearly every day looking for more tears. You guys are, hands down, the most entertaining EVE bloggers I have been able to find. The tears you extract are taaaasty.
/asskiss
Seriously though, if you don't like it, fuck off and stop reading
