My Loot, Your Tears

You know what they say about Megathron pilots. They always shoot ninjas.

I don't know why, but a significant percentage of Megathron pilots will shoot at ninja salvagers, then stick around to have their ship aerated.

Now I can expand that to include Navy Issue Megathron pilots as well.

I was solo salvaging. Good friend, fellow MLYT blogger, and new Suddenly Ninjas Salvage Director (grats dude!) Khalia Nestune and I were in a fleet together, but were operating separately. This gives you the best of both worlds: You get the missionrunners who only shoot at solo ninjas, you have RR backup if you need it, and you have someone to talk to.

I had six hits, but nobody was biting. Incidentally, I had recorded the scanning process to put online, so as soon as I can sort that out you'll get to see it. After three of them, I skipped two and jumped to my Navy Megathron hit because, hey, Megathron pilots always shoot at ninjas, right?

Right. I looted from his wreck, he targeted me. I aligned to the station, and he fired with his big guns, missing of course. I returned to the station and grabbed JerkRaven (formerly NinjaRaven). While I was waiting out my session timer, voxeltree opened a convo:

Hilarious. He's been ganked too many times, so he's not going to shoot at me again after giving me aggro the first time. I guess he just trusted me not to come back and pew him?

At this point, I was undocking in JerkRaven and in warp. Khalia was hot on my heels with a RR Osprey. I landed on the gate, confirmed that he was still in the mission with my directional scanner, and warped on in. I landed right on top of him, waiting through an agonizingly long lock time before putting a warp disruptor on him and starting the barrage of Caldari Navy Bane Torpedoes.

He never even fired back. After he popped, he sent the following:

Then he logged off. I guess he means that since he's rich IRL, he can afford to buy GTCs and sell them in the market as PLEX for ISK. I guess if throwing what is essentially a $20 bill away is what floats your boat, then I'm happy to make that transaction happen for you. I know more than a few players in Eve that are actually quite wealthy in the real world, and they don't buy their ISK. I guess voxeltree is what friends of mine call a "trust fund capsuleer".

Here's the killmail. I don't have access to the Suddenly Ninjas killboard anymore, and I haven't taken the time to set one up for myself, so you'll have to live with the terrible but freely available Battleclinic killboard for now. Note the big hits: the faction ship (market value 450M), the three faction guns (all of which dropped for me, worth 240M altogether), and probably 60M worth of large rigs and T2 modules. 750M lost for him, 50M for Khalia for coming along, and about 220M for me.

Voxeltree learned a 750 million ISK lesson: Don't shoot at ninjas, and don't turn your back on a Jerk.
