My Loot, Your Tears

So I'm salvaging along in Dodixie when I come across a Catalyst salvaging a room. I follow him, flying to the wrecks he is tractoring and salvaging them out from under his nose. This is usually something I do purely for extra salvage and grief, as nobody ever attacks with an unarmed salvage Catalyst.

But Teh Dizzle has prepared for this day. Oh yes. Teh Dizzle is packing a single light drone. With only two wrecks left in the room, he launches it and aggresses to me.

Knowing that he'll soon be finished and out of the mission, I quickly warp to my Orca and grab JerkTengu, which I've set up for quick kills on weak ships. When I land, the Teh Dizzle is 40 km away. I overheat my mids, but I still have 12km to close with him, and figure that he'll probably escape.

But Teh Dizzle's brain and balls are all the size of softballs, apparently. He re-launches his light drone and heads for my Strategic Cruiser. He dies quickly.

Paul Clavet > So, what was that all about?
Teh Dizzle > perhaps you'd care to tell me
Paul Clavet > You're the one who charged my tengu with a catalyst carrying a single drone
Teh Dizzle > perhaps it'd be best if you stated the nature of your problem
Paul Clavet > I guess it's a lack of understanding of your motivations... please enlighten me
Teh Dizzle > its your dime, dude... I suggest you go first...?
Paul Clavet > I'll be back in your mission grabbing the rest of your loot. I suggest you not return.
Teh Dizzle > perhaps you could explain the nature of your emergency?

Looking at his BattleClinic record, I judge him as someone who will be looking for revenge and coming back in something larger. This is confirmed when I warp to M20 and see his Dominix outside the undock. I shoot at him until he docks, then hop inside, grab JerkRaven, and head back for his mission. I go ahead and warp on through the gate: He's not the type that will be checking his directional scanner before charging in.

Sure enough, his Dominix appears on my D-scan a few minutes later, and then on my overview.

With a fitting like his, the outcome was inevitable.

I certainly hope he gets a chance to attack again. He's got guts, even if he's missing the discretion component to his valor assembly.
