Nitnargimmi's Faction Golem Meets JerkTengu

Ruvas doesn't have many bears, but the ones that do live there are fat and stupid. Nitnargimmi shoots, I score. I had a chance to make this a Golem+CNR kill, but I got spooked by some logistical issues and underplayed my hand. Still, if you can't be happy about a 1.4 Billion ISK kill, what can you be happy about?

Be sure you up the quality to 720p and fullscreen that sucker!

I'm pretty happy with this video. The new computer has made recording these things much more reasonable, and I think I'm getting the knack for the video editing and encoding software, so the quality should be excellent. The songs are "Long Road to Ruin" by Foo Fighters and "Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse. I hope you enjoyed everything.

I know I keep bouncing around on video hosting services. Vimeo was awesome but I noticed yesterday that their rules do not allow video game footage. The downside of YouTube is that you're limited to 15 minutes (used to be 10 minutes) and they sometimes screw with your music selection for people viewing outside the US. If you know of a better service that offers 720p video playback, let me know.

not only is your music selection good, the kill was great. Should have taken the chance, at worst you have to run away from a unlikely point on the CNR, at best you get a even better kill!

On onlining modules, I think you can just click the module and not the power button and they will come online. Should be faster also bigger area to click! love the jerkorca

You never cease to amave me paul

    Several more questions:

The fact that you left your shield-booster at permarun, and your DPS is low, and all the PDU....you are running a permatank?

  4. Paul Clavet

The whole setup will run for something like 10 minutes in its current configuration, including the neut, which is the crucial piece of equipment. I thought about swapping a PDU for another BCU, but decided that I'd rather have the ability to hold out in a protracted engagement than have a little more damage output. As you can see, even the very meager damage is more than enough with a neut is involved.

I'm training toward a different, and cheaper, gank ship currently. It'll be ready in a couple of weeks.

You make me want to quit EVE because I'm not even 1/20th that awesome.

The video is entertaining, though due in no small part to the music selection. Entertaining nonetheless. It's too bad this is juxtaposed with the embarrassment represented by Khalia and Captain. I think we can all see where the charisma actually lies within this group.

    • Paul Clavet

      lol wat

I won't deny that I am indeed the most awesome of the Jerks, but Khalia and Captain kick more ass before their second breakfast at 10 AM than you will in an entire year.

    • Captain Charismatic

      ....Hrm... are you trolling?

  7. Khalia Nestune

I approve of this video. 100% pure Paul Clavet awesome. Accept no imitations.

I'm totally blown away that people still leave unmanned caps inside pos shields. My alliance recently made of with 2 chimera and a rev due to some bunch of numbnutz doing just this. Unmanned pos in a c6. We jumped in our own rev took down the pos - no stront - Tyvm!

The unfunny part of the exercise was having to rerool our static about 400 times to get the whole fleet home!

cool video, great songs selection and awesome killmail to brag about

    Hey Paul,

    nice kill! :)

About your videos: I fiddled with fraps a bit but I am wondering: What tools do you use to get a typical fraps video to youtube? With fraps, I get high quality but very large files. I convert them using virtualdub. But what do you use to edit scenes, insert music, and so on? I tried the windows XP movie maker but the quality seems to be p bad.

    • Paul Clavet

Fraps is what I use for getting the raw video. To improve performance, make sure you DON'T tell it to resize the video. That eats CPU. Also, have the video recording on a different drive (and different channel if using IDE still).

For editing the video, I use Adobe Premiere Pro. It costs as much as a used pickup truck. I hear if one is resourceful one may find it for a whole lot less. *whistles innocently*

(Yes I'm a shameful pirate. In my own defense, back when I used it for actual work I bought a legit license, but that was years ago.)

Anyway, the learning curve is steep, but once you've got the hang of it you can do most anything you want. I'm sure I don't use a third of the feature set.

Mind posting your fit? I'm making a ham legion with a medium nuet. Not sure if I want to try and get a long caplife or use boosters. Any suggestions?

Basically it has 6/4/6 with 5 launcher hardpoints. Resists are 85%+

    • Paul Clavet

I'm going to make a gank ship post soon.

In the mean time, my general advice would be to remember a few things: You're in a CRUISER going half a kilometer per second, meaning that the weapons whose DPS you think you have to fear (Torps, large guns) won't be able to hit or do full damage to you. Make sure you can tank three or four hundred DPS, and don't worry about it beyond that. You'll be able to tank just about any mission runner forever.

One medium neut is, as evidenced by the video, obviously enough.

      MINDSET over EQUIPMENT.

      • Commandoii

Cool. Basically confirmed what I had planned. See you out there sometime

  12. Xeross

I just realized this kind of stuff is what I love about EVE, small gang/solo PvP (Being it mission runners or w/e), think I'll have to reconsider my current position in EVE.

  13. Dark

As a 0.0 player I'm still amazed people keep falling for that and they are stupid enough not to fit the minimum needed to be able to fight back.

He wasted two minutes before targeting you back and shooting. Sure , you are speed tanked and packing enough tank to last for a while , but it would still hurt if he was using the right ammo.

Also , an offlined heavy neut would have screwed your day badly.

Thankfully , carebears are still stupid enough to shoot at a salvager , and not have backup close enough when they do that.

    • Paul Clavet

The neut would have to be online before the engagement to matter, since my neut would ensure that the victim never had the 95% charge to turn his on. I suppose that he could online it immediately after giving me aggro, but if he knows the game that far in advance he can just switch ship setups entirely.

Love to read about JerkTengu, always brightens my morning.

Fed up with obtaining low numbers of useless visitors for your website? Well i wish to inform you of a brand new underground tactic that produces me personally $900 per day on 100% AUTOPILOT. I possibly could be here all day and going into detail but why dont you simply check their website out? There is really a excellent video that explains everything. So if your seriously interested in producing hassle-free cash this is the site for you. Auto Traffic Avalanche

I can confirm that I did not look at dscan (along with a lot of other hilarious noob fail). I try to live a balanced life of pve and pvp out in nulsec now, but this video occasionally comes up in conversation so everybody can laugh at the noob carebear throwing away his golem. =D

Thanks for posting here it to live on eternally, it really is one of the best parts of that whole encounter (besides the lesson to never take the bait and then stick around waiting to die).
